The festival
FTM’09 is a competition based on new formats and innovative media content for mobile phones. The short films in this year’s festival can be dramas, documentaries, animations,... of any genre, theme or visual style.
Just like last year, participation in FTM’09 remains free and is open to both Spanish and international films shot on mobile devices and/or cameras of any type as long as the content is accessible via mobile phones.
The features of the most up-to-date mobile phones – such as better lenses, the capability to cut and edit, greater storage capacity and transfer speed etc. – have turned these tiny computers into powerful tools capable of producing millions of fresh media stories that can be spread all over the world in real time. Who could have imagined this new reality barely a decade ago?
The festival’s second edition, FTM’09, is directed by Francesc Fenollosa and Josep Lluís Galiana and is once again supported by the Instituto Tecnológico de Óptica, Color e Imagen AIDO and the collaboration of Levante TV and the distributor, Wake Up Pictures.
